Psora "the itch" is the most important of all the three chronic
miasms and can be regarded as the mother of all chronic diseases. It is
the most ancient and most chronic miasm that has been disturbing the mankind
from before and has the capability of passing from generation to generation.
Due to its hereditary disposition, it has become the producer of innumerable
forms of diseases, with their innumerable polymorphous symptoms. It is
the fundamental cause of diseases.
Dr.Samuel Hahnemann has said that" If it was not the
presence of psora in the organism, the organism could not become affected
by any other disease, not even syphilis or Sycosis " Hence, it can
be regarded as the precipitating factor in the derangement of vital force.
In addition to all this, it is highly contagious in nature more even to
syphilis and Sycosis.
Psora is manifested in the organism in three forms.
Primary psora
- Cutaneous eruption.
- Presence of vesicles.
- Intolerable itching.
- Peculiar odour.
Latent psora
When the symptoms of primary psora are suppressed by any
means. the primary symptoms disappear but the disease is driven inwards.
In such circumstances, the psora becomes dormant and has the following
symptoms
- Mental affections,quick and active.
- Mentally and physically easily fatigued.
- Desire to lie down and dread to undertake.
- Any thing requires mental and physical exertion.
- Depressed and not accustomed to silent suffering
- Cannot concentrate-subject to fits of anger.
- Worries and fears something.
- >By crying or natural elimination function.
Secondary psora
When the latent psora is triggered by some exciting or maintaining
cause, its sleep is disturbed and it becomes active coming out as psora
chronic diseases.
It has the following symptoms
- Produces functional disturbances.
- Afraid of dying but lives on for years
- Pains>warmth
- Oversensitiveness-all kinds of functional complaints when arising
from emotional disturbances sensitive to noise light and odours.
- Itching-skin dry,dirty appearance with numerous eruption
- <by scratching but scratching follows burning and smarting.
- Burning in hands and feet. Flushes of heat on face
- Vertigo
- Headache>lying down
- Hungry patient>after eating a bloating sensation sensitive to touch.
- Desires hot foods and meats
- Morning diarrhoea
- Constipation
- Cannot stand still, must walk or lean against something if he in on
his feet
- Susceptibility to cold
- Complaints>heat and summer
- Complaints<in winter.
