A case of Alopecia Areata

         This case study is presented here from successful case on alopecia areata treated at AKP Homoeopathic Clinical Research Centre. Dr. D. Manju has compiled this case.

         A girl aged 8 years presented patchy hair loss over the scalp since six months. The lesions were found in left and right temporal regions and frontal areas, initially she had dandruff and hair loss in bunches resulted in spotty baldness. She was applied with neem leaves, onion and other native medicines finally opted homoeopathic treatment.

Past History

Had all vaccinations
H/o Cold and cough, fever on and off
Tonsillitis reported once.

Family History

Father Hypertensive
Maternal grandfather asthmatic

Food Type - Non Vegetarian, Spicy food
Desire: Sweets, Chocolates

Mental, intellectual state of mind is irritable, always hurries at his/her works, anxious, Quick, very sensitive and emotional, very moody and changes frequently,

Discussion

The remedy phosphorous was indicated on the basis of symptomatology and miasmatic understanding as psora. Acid flour was prescribed considering the Psora syphilitic consideration. The mother tincture Cochelera Americana is used as external as auxiliary treatment and conservative.
