National Homoeopathic Conference 2005 held at Amravati
 

AMRAVATI, JAN. 22: The 13th. National Homoeopathy Conference was organised by Research Society of Homoeopathy at Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Sanskrutic Bhavan, Amravati.Dr. Ravindra Bapat, Ex. Vice-Chancellor graced the inaugural session as Chairman. Political Dignitaries Shri Anantrao Gudhe M.P and Shri Sanjay Band M.L.A graced the inaugural session.Eminent physicians.

Dr. D. P. Rastogi, Dr.Mark Danial, Dr. P. Y. Kulkarni, Dr. Sharif Zafar, Dr. G. D. Jindal, Dr. Ram Thombare and Dr. P. R. Somwanshi, also participated in the inaugural session.R.D.Bapat, former Vice Chancellor, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik., Dr. R. U. Thombare, Dean, Dental College and Dr.P.R. Somwanshi, Dean, P.D.M.M. College also attended.

The scientific sessions were presented by Dr.R. D. Bapat, Dr. G. D. Jindal, Dr.Mark Danial, Dr.Kasim Chimthanawala, Dr. Jawahar Shah, Dr. Shrikant Deshmukh,on the first day. The second day sessions was contributed by Dr. S. K. Punshi, Dr. Ram Thombare, Dr. B. D. Patel, Dr. Sunil Parse, Dr. B. S. Nagoba, Dr. Chandokar, Dr. Anagha Kulkarni, Dr. Kavita Sohni, Dr. Rekha Tripathi, Dr. Adil Chimth anwala, Dr. Prafulla Barvalia Dr. R. A. Patel. Dr. C. P. Singh, Dr. Anurudh Verma, and Dr. A.Dole had taken a massive effort.


Federation for Homoeopathic Medical Colleges
 

NOIDA,JAN.28: A federation was formed to represent the problems faced by the Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in India to the Government and the Central Council of Homoeopathy following a meeting held at Bakson Homoeopathic Medical College. Former Minister for Energy, Govt. of Maharashtra Shri. Jayadutt Kshirsagar. was elected as president and Shri Ajay Bishnoi M.L.A, Mandhya Pradesh will be Deputy president. Vice Presidents are Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Mandhya Pradesh; Dr. Bhima Shankar Belgadi, Karnataka; Dr. Anand Kumar Singh , Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Pankaj Dave, Gujarat; and Dr. P.K. Moitre, West Bengal. Dr.

Arun Bhasme was elected as General secretary and Organising Secretary is Dr.S.M. Singh. Dr. G.D. Panpalia is treasurer. Joint Secretaries are Dr. Subramanyam, Tamil Nadu; Dr. Markand Bhat, Gujarat; Dr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, Bihar; Dr. Vishnu Aggarwal, Rajastan; and Shri. Chandrashekar, Karnataka.

CME on Diabetes Mellitus
 
 

BANGALORE,NOV.24:The Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic system of Medicine, Bangalore had organised a continuing Medical Education Program to commemorate the World Diabetes Day at the office premises. Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, Shri.D.Thangaraj, IAS inaugurated the program. In his inaugural address, he lauded the efforts of the Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic system of Medicine, Bangalore in organising such a program to bring about knowledge enhancement among the doctors. He also called upon the homoeopathic doctors to extend their services to rural population also.

The Deputy Director for Homoeopathy in the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicines and Homoeopathy, Government of Karnataka Dr. R. Shantha Kumari stressed on the effectiveness of homoeopathic therapy in the treatment of diabetes. The President of Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Bangalore, Dr.Veerabramhachary outlined efforts of the Board in addressing to the continuing professional development needs of doctors registered with this Board. Stating that the current CME was only a beginning, he promised to extend such benefits to doctors across the state. The topics of CME included ‘Concept of homoeopathic treatment for Diabetes’ by Dr.Munir Ahmed R. Registrar, Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Bangalore.

He classified diabetes population into various categories as per the principles of homeopathic nosologic taxonomy and explained how homoeopathy approaches each of these categories of diabetic population. Dr.M.R.Srivatsan, member, Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Bangalore made presented paper on ‘Treatment of Diabetic complications through homoeopathy’.

He delineated various complications that are brought on due to diabetes and explained the therapeutic approach to each of these, citing illustrations from cases treated, he explained that the complications of diabetes can be simplified through homoeopathy. Ms. Rashmi Shrinathan, a consultant Nutritionist described the importance of diet for diabetic population. She also highlighted the food pyramid for diabetic population from the Indian perspective. The Continuing Medical Education program was attended by a large number of doctors registered with the Karnataka Board for Homoeopathic System of Medicine. While appreciating the step taken by the Board to initiate such a program they suggested for regular organising of such programs.


 
New Office Bearers for Madurai TNHA Chapter
 

Madurai,Mar.6: Tamil Nadu Homoeopathic Association Madurai Chapter held Election for the new office bearers at Hotel Northgate Madurai. Dr.P.Subramanian was elected unanimously as president of their chapter for fourth time and Dr.J.Premkumar was elected as secretary to the association. Dr.D.Senguttuvan is Vice president and Dr.A.Rajmohan is Joint Secretary. Dr.J.Lakshmi Narasimman was elected for the post of treasurer. A.Perumal, Dr.S.Sekarpandian, Dr. T.Semparuthi, Dr.B.Tamaraiselvi, Dr.V.Srileka and Dr.T.S.Jayalakshmi were elected as Executive members. Dr.Santhanapandian and Dr. G.P.Hahneman are advisers to the Chapters. A CME program was held after the election.Dr.Sisir presented a topic on Repertorisation.

Seminar on Respiratory Diseases
 
 

Amravati: Takhatmal Shrivallabh Homoeopathic Medical College organized a seminar on Respiratory Diseases at their premises. Dr.S.M.Desarda, Dean, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar University inaugurated the seminar. Dr. R.D.Tapadia welcomed the gathering. Dr.Nimbhorkar, Dr.G.D.Boob, Dr.Sanjay Modi, and Dr.S.D.Taori also participated. Dr.S.M.Jane,Dean Medicine, Amravati University said “Homoeopathy is effective in Hepatitis B “ Dr.Sanjay Modi spoke on ‘Rapid result of Homoeopathy in advanced pathological Conditions”.

A free medical camp was also organized by the team in which a team of physicians headed by Dr.Sanjay Modi and Dr.Harish Baheti treated 190 patients.Dr.Sarda proposed vote of thanks. Dr.Zhahid Sheikh and Shehwar organized this seminar.



 
India Gifts Homeopathic Medicines For Tsunami Victims In Sri Lanka
Columbo, FEB. 2: In a simple ceremony at the Indian High Commission today, High Commissioner Mrs Nirupama Rao handed over a consignment of 825 kilograms of homeopathic medicines to Hon. Tissa Karaliyada, Minister for Indigenous Medicine. The medicines, supplied by the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturaopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Ministry of Health, Government of India subsequent to a request received from the Government of Sri Lanka, are intended for use in the tsunami affected eastern parts of Sri Lanka. The ceremony was attended by Mr. W A Karunasena, Secretary, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine as well as Dr. Eswara Das, a senior consultant in homeopathy deputed by Government of India to Sri Lanka for a period of one year.
