Dr. P.K. Mukherjee is a leading physician and
academician. He is graduated in modern medical science, inspired by
the principles of similimum, done post graduation in homoeopathy. He
practices at Varanashi. He had written many articles in scientific journals.
We know that Dr.Samuel Hahnemann was the ‘Father
of Homoeopathy’ and was born on 10th April 1755 in a beautiful
city in Saxony of Germany. He was not only a discoverer of a new system
of medicine known as Homoeopathy but also gave awareness to the society.
People are considering it as reliable, harmless and maximum beneficial
mode of treatment nowadays. Beyond this there are several characters
that were present in Hahnemann’s life which are being remembered
by the medical sciences forever.
A great scientist of his time
Dr.Hahnemann was not only an inventor of the
new system of medicine Homoeopathy but also a great scientist. As a
scientist he was busy in search of new experiments. Others also accepted
his practical experiences. All discoveries done by the scientists have
been found accidentally and the same condition happened in our Master’s
life. Once an ideology was explained in British Journal for about the
quality of Chincona or Quinine, which was most popular medicine, used
for treating malaria at that time and also having the quality of curing
the disease. Hahnemann was worried about this and his logic was that
why other bitter substances applied in drugs had no quality to cure
the disease. He was frustrated with this and he himself made his mind
to use some quantity of quinine in his healthy body, which made him
to experience the symptoms of malarial fever. He first thought it to
be natural but later found that no symptoms of fever developed. He then
experimented with different quantities of the drug and found the result
to be the same. This inspired him to experiment with other drug substances
in his body and lastly came to the conclusion that the drug substances
having the capacity to cure disease may also produce disease like symptoms
on healthy body. Thus by his own practical experiment he was able to
prove the system “Homoeopathy”. His micro dose theory came
from common theory of chemistry that quality is inversely proportional
to quantity. And the micro doses are not only more effective on disease
along with bipolar action in therapeutics. His immortal ideology is
that science cannot be bound in limited span, it never depends on conservativeness
and is always developed by experiment, experiences, time and nature.
Beginner of Modern Era of Medical Sciences:
It
is no doubt that Dr.Hahnemann has made a great revolution to develop
modern medical era in the world of the science. He was the first pioneer
who told that each disease has cause for its development. The causative
factors are small, invisible and easily effective in the body by deficiency
or functional and structural disturbances in the body (Knowledge of
Pathology). The physician must know the tools, which are used, properly
(Knowledge of Therapeutics) and the remedies used for treatment should
be known (Knowledge of Pharmacy).
Once the Father of Modern Pathology Dr.George
Vircows told Dr.J.T. Kent in 1987 that he belived Dr.Hahnemann was the
beginner of Modern Microbiology because without any microscope microbes,
bacteria and viruses could not be identified.
Hahnemann was a Physician first then a Homoeopath:
A
good Physician is an ideal person who is directly sent by God to his
patient. He always restores the sick person into health as early as
possible with harmless manner and with maximum relief. A successful
Physician tries to diagnose every disease not only by common symptom
but also consider the individual abnormalities of the diseased person.
The proper diagnosis helps the Physician for better prognosis. When
a Doctor fails in his treatment it is his lack of knowledge.
A Great Philosopher of His Time:
A
Philosopher is one who thinks always for truth. His activities are useful
for the society and his morals cannot be forgotten. We never forget
our Master Dr.Hahnemann who was also a great philosopher of his time.
