PCOD…Miasmatic Analysis

 

  

  • Multiple cystic over growth and hyperplasia of follicles are considered as an overgrowth of tissues or over construction of natural tissues.
  • Early functional disturbances of ovary causes Oligomenorrhea or Amenorrhea is a Psoric taint is further progressing into Sycotic taint
  • Sycosis attacks the internal organs especially pelvic and sexual organs. So all the manifestation of ovary comes under Sycotic taint.
  • Oestrogens, LH, Testosterone are the hormones raised in the PCOD. The hormonal hyper secretions are due to over construction (cystic growth) of ovary.
  • Sycotic manifestation of skin causes hyper secretion of sebum (Acne) and oil skin are the hallmark of PCOD.
  • Obesity and Hirsuitism are the additional features of PCOD. In obesity the Sycotic manifestation expresses as excessive physical over construction. In Hirsuitism the distribution of coarse hair in female in upper lip, chin, chest, lower abdomen, thigh are Sycotic over growth of hair in female due to hyper secretion of testosterone.

    Antisycotic remedies are able to eradicate the fully developed dynamic miasmatic disease completely.

    PCOS…Diagnostic Criteria

    PCOS is diagnosed by following criteria   

    1. By clinically

  • Family history of menstrual disturbances
  • A detaited menstrual history like
  • Irregular, delayed menstrual cycle
  • Amenorrhoea and Oligomenorrhea
  • Polymenorrhoea with short menstrual cycles
  • Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
  • Primary amenorhoea etc.
  • History of weight gain and calculate the body mass index
  • BMI will be more than 25
  • The waist circumference will be more than 35 inches. (in pcos waist and hip ratio will be increased)
  • Clinical suggestion of androgen excess like
  • Acne
  • Hirsuitism
  • Acanthosis nigricans suggesting insulin resistance
  • It’s a mucocutaneous eruption characterised by hyperkeratosis, papillomatosis and increased pigmentation


    • 2. Biochemical:
    Hyper secretion of insulin; Hyper secretion of lutinising hormone; Elevated prolactin; Fasting glucose: fasting insulin ratio less than 4:5; Elevated free testosterone; 17-hydroxy progesterone

    3. Ultrasound and by Imaging Techniques:
        Ultra sound:-
    Ovaries are described as PCOs if there are 10 (or) more cysts mastering about Stroma aggregated around a dense Stroma “NECKLACE PATTERN”
