This month let us go to Paris, where the founder of Homoeopathy Dr.Hahnemann lived last years of his life and sleeps in the popular grave at Pere Lachaise cemetery. We started our Journey from Berlin after our visits to Meissen and Kothen. When we reached Paris Mr. Partharsarathy and his colleagues Mr Gogula Krishnan and Mr.Dhasarathan gave warm welcome to us. They drove their car on the roads of beautiful Paris. After two hours we reached the cemetery.

We walked towards the prestigious cemetery and Mr.Parthasarathy told, “ Only Elite people monuments are here! “ We already visited the web site www.pere-lachaise.com and had an idea about the cemetery. As walked on the pavement towards Dr.Hahnemann resting place, waves of his final years of contributions and life bloomed in our mind.

Dr. Hahnemann had completed his works on Sixth Edition of Organon of Medicine here in which the Fifty milesimal potencies were introduced. He died in 1843, July 2nd, before publication of Organon of Medicine. Melanie had not informed any one and kept his body in the house at Paris, No. 1, Rue de Milan for 9 days, the house in which he practiced and lived last. Later his body was buried on 11th July 1843 in the Cimetiere de Montmartre to the north of Paris in what is popularly called the 'Artist's Quarter'. Melanie died in 1878.

On the insistence of wealthy American homoeopaths, in 1898 the two graves were reopened and the remains identified from a large lock of Melanie's hair around his neck and from his engraved wedding ring. The bodies were moved to a much grander tomb in the Lachaise cemetery, which can still be seen. It is a 'celebrity' grave along with many other Paris notables from the last century. 35 persons were present in the reburial. His grand son Dr Leopold Suss Hahnemann who also attended the reburial was the only eyewitness to the both burials.

We reached Dr.Hahnemann's tomb after fifteen minutes walk. We looked with a “Sense of feel “ and we paid our tributes to the soul-resting place.

There is a bust of Hahnemann, surmounted with the words” Hahnemann, Founder of Homoeopathy “ and beneath the words “ I did not live in vain” in French. To the left a list of major writings like. “Let like be cured by like” “treat illness with remedies that produce symptoms similar to the illness”, were found We took a lot of photos and captured them to our movie camera too.

Then we were taken around the Paris city main streets and we returned home the next day.
