Dr.Edward
Shalts, M.D is trustee of the American Institute
of Homeopathy and Vice president of the National
Center for Homeopathy. Born and raised in Russia,
he graduated from medical school in Moscow. He practiced
family medicine and homeopathy there until 1988,
when he immigrated to the United States.
For
four years following his arrival, Dr. Shalts worked
as a postdoctoral research scientist at Columbia
University. He then completed psychiatric residency
training at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New
York City, where he served as chief resident. Afterwards,
he practiced homeopathy, conducted research, and
taught for four years at the Continuum Center for
Health and Healing, one of the largest centers of
complementary and alternative medicine in the world,
which is affiliated with the Beth Israel Medical
Center. Currently, Dr. Shalts remains on Beth Israel’s
faculty and also has a private practice in New York
City.
He
is a diplomate both of the American Board of Homeotherapeutics
and of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology,
and is a founding diplomat of the American Board
of Holistic Medicine. The father of two daughters,
he lives in Closter, New Jersey with his wife, Natasha.
