A woman aged 55 years; known Diabetic
consulted me for her hair loss over occipital area for the past five years.
She was frustrated with all kinds of treatment. I prescribed Lyc 200 keeping
the symptoms of mind Depression, Lack of self-confidence, craving for sweets
and preferring hot food. Later my prescription was Acid Phos 30, calling
the “General Debility” after fever. Hair growth started.

A male patient aged 40 came to out patient Department at Shree Mumbadevi
Hospital at Mumbai and had been given Fluoric Acid. After receiving
the remedy, the patient noticed a growth of hair in the spots
of alopecia. The students could feel the ‘stubble’ growing
on these alopecia spots with their fingers. At the next follow up,
we found to our surprise that the new hair that was growing was
grey in colour. Our mind immediately went to the drug Vinca minor.

| the next followup that the hair growth had now stopped.
We repeated Vinca minor for another fortnight and then realised at the
subsequent follow up that the patient actually had grey hair all over
and that they had been dyed black. By now even the rest of the hair had
turned grey at the roots! We realised that in our over enthusiasm to give
Vinca minor, we had become prejudiced observers and had made an incorrect
observation. The patient was given Fluoric acid once again and soon had
a normal growth of hair.

A young, male patient
aged 9 years consulted me with the complaints of Itching with pustular
eruption over the scalp, since 15 days. Loss of hair over the affected
part discharging thick and yellow fluid.The patient experienced
intense itching and burning pain, which was worse at night and better
in open air. I observed the lesions were covered with thick crust, |
| underneath collection of pus also seen.
The patient had offensive perspiration. Local Examination revealed
cervical and occipital lymphadenitis. They were enlarged and tender.
Understanding the increased susceptibility of the patient and syphilitic
miasm I prescribed Mezeruium 1m three doses. Discharges stopped and
also there is regression in the size of the lymph nodes. Finally hair
started growing. |

I have used syphilinum as an intercurrent and constitutional in many
cases of hair loss. The patients always give the destructive expressions
of the syphilitic miasm with hair fall in bunches. Higher potencies

A twenty year male was suffering
from patchy hair loss since two months in the right parietal region.
He had itching in the bald spot. Hair is lusterless and face oily,
unwashed. Additionally the patient has been suffering from chronic
headache for the past three years. The characteristics are Bursting;
Periodical 4-5 times in a month; with Blurring Vision; Headache <
Sun Rise;> by sunset. |
| The patient also suffered from Epigastric
burning since 2 year. Pain < hot food and Pressure;> cold rice.
I initially gave a constitutional prescription Psorinum 200C followed
with Phosphorous 200 C. Complaints vanished and hair growth started.

Thallium gives
good result in many cases of Alopecia. The indication is alopecia
followed after any illness. Thallium 30C gives me a good result. I
use this drug in lower potency from 6 to 30.As an intercurrent drug
Syphilinum gives good result for me, I use this remedy in very high

A girl aged
9 years old consulted me for hair loss; She had history of severe itching
of the scalp with shedding white flakes all over the head. Later she developed
a patchy hair loss in a single spot, which extended all over. She had
violent itching with moderate oozing. Her fingers were scratching on her
scalp while her mother narrated her complaints.
