Hahnemann Statue unveiled
 

ATOOR, JAN 16. The White Memorial College management has erected statues for Hahnemann and Hippocrates. Chennai Joint Commissioner of Police C.Sylendra Babu unveiled the Hippocrates Statue and Elder R.John President of SDA unveiled the statue of Hahnemann . The College day Celebrations followed soon after the program. Dr.K.Rajendran presided over the function. C.Sylendra Babu, Chief Guest to the Ceremony addressed the gathering and distributed prizes to students who are meritorious in academic activities and sports. Mr.P.Lazar and Elder John also addressed the gathering.

Dr.G.Russel Raj was convener to the program. DrR.Vijayakumar was the key organizer with his members Dr.Robibson Dr.Dominic Raj,Dr.Suman Dr.Sanjeev and Mr.M.Victor Raj. Dr.J.J.Stalin Jose proposed vote of thanks.

CHENNAI, JAN 2. Dr. Aarti Sharma presented an exciting poster presentation at Excellence 2005 seminar on Keloid. Her power point presentation on Keloid was presented with treated photo graphs, made every body in new dimension on hope in the treatment of proliferative disorders. She was awarded with first prize. A presentation by Dr Semparti on Naveus Scalp” packed the second prize. The third prize awarded to Dr. Prasad who presented a evidence based reports on Pulmonary Oedema.

The session was evaluated and judged by Dr. S.M.Desarda, Principal and Dean, Vice principal Dr Santilal Desarda, DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College and Dr.Sudhir, Vinayaka Missions Homoeopathy Medical College. Dr.Mohamed Aleem moderated this session.


Arogya 2005 at Chennai Trade Centre
 
 

CHENNAI,JAN 7. India Trade Promotion Council (ITPO) organized the “Arogya 2005“at chennai in collaboration with Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai. Though India enjoyed the most favourable climate, the market share in global exports of the ‘’Ayush’’ sector was only two per cent, when compared with that of China whose share was around 60 per cent, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said here today. In order to preserve the ancient traditional wisdom, the health ministry was committed to ‘’Digitalise’’ it for the benefit of future generations.

All the formulations and scriptures would be digitalised and registered en masse with World Intellectual Property whereby the system could be protected, he said in his address, at ‘’Arogya-2005'’, a three-day exhibition, which began here today.
He said government had geared itself up to propagate Ayush through setting up of Medicinal Plant Promotion Zones across the country.

Union Minister of state Health and Family welfare, Panabaka Lakshmi, in her address, said the government was committed to overall development of indigenous systems of medicines towards improving health care with particular attention to the rural areas. The Common Minimum programme will be integrated into the National Health Programme.
Governor, Surjit Singh Barnala, in his inaugural address, said there was a global interest in the area of traditional medicine. Even advanced countries like the USA and those of the European Union were eagerly looking forward towards traditional systems of Indian medicine.

Excellence 2005 Outstanding Seminar
 
 

CHENNAI, JAN 2. Homoeo Times Journal hosted a seminar on Clinical Evidence in commemoration of first year Anniversary Celebrations. The new concept on presentation had received overwhelming response from the nation. Many physicians from Maharastra, Uttar Pradesh, Madya Pradesh, Karnataka,Andra Pradesh and Kerala attended this seminar. Few foreign delegates from srilanka and United Kingdom also participated.

Initially Homoeo times paid deep mourning to Tsunami victims. Dignitaries and many physicians paid their tributes. Inaugural Ceremony sharply started on time. Dr.P.Mukuntan welcomed the dignitaries to the dais and also gave warm wishes to all participants and delegates. Dr.Diwan Harish Chand presided over the function. Dr.S.P.Singh lighted the lamp and Dr.S.P.Koppikar garlanded Hahnemann’s Statue. Dr.D.P.Rastogi released “HomeDesk” CD and Dr.S.M.Desarda received the first copy. Homoeo Times honoured Dr.K.R.K. Prabhakaramurthy and Dr.P.V.Venkat raman The Scientific Sessions followed immediately after.

Dr.Srinivasulu presented an Audio Visual case on Japanese Encephalitis. The recovery of the child was demonstrated stage by stage with well appreciation from the delegates. Dr.Prabhakara Shetty ‘s presentation on Diabetic Gangrene foot had an exciting attention on cured photographs on foot gangrene. Dr.B.T.Rudresh presented a well documented, successful case on Azoospermia and the session was very informative. Dr.Esmail sait presented few cases on cancer with documentation. His oration answered so many questions and information on rare drugs in treating cancer patients.

Poster presentation by the physicians followed the session. Dr.Mohamed Aleem moderated this session. Dr.S.M.Desardha, Dr.Santilal Desarda and Dr.Sudhir evaluated the presentation. Dr.Semparuti, Dr.P.V.S.N.Prasad, Dr.Aarti and Dr.Kannan presented their cases with power point projection. Each participant was given five-minute time. The session was very spectacular and of excellent information to the delegates.

The poster session for students kept the well packed auditorium in silence. Dr.Munir Ahmed moderated this session and Dr.J.D.Patel, Dr. N.Subramanian and Dr.Uttareswar Pachegaonkar evaluated their presentation. Ms. Savita, Ms . S.P.Abhirami,Ms.Karthika,Mr.Thirumal. Ms. Mariy Immaculate and Ms. M.P.Supriya presented their posters with well designed Audio Visual impacts. They discussed both theoretical and practical points with much appreciation from the participants.
Afternoon session started punctually with much expectation from Dr.Diwan Harish Chand and Dr.Parinaz Humanranwala. The audience showed great interest in clearing their doubts in their day-to-day practice and had shown tremendous increase in professional thirst for knowledge.

Finally there was a most exciting Multi Media session “Spot Diagnosis “ Dr.G.Suresh conducted the quiz with great appreciation from observers. There were three teams with the label A,B.and C comprising of three participants, a physician, faculty and a student. The enlightening session held the well packed auditorum in pin drop silence. Homoeo Times organized a Veledictory function , in which Dr.S.P.Singh advisor Homoeopathy was Chief Guest Mr. Naresh Gupta , Chief Election Commissioner graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Dr. B.N.Prakash, and Dr.N. Subraminian were honoured. Dr.S.P.Singh distributed the prizes to the winners and presented mementoes to the Homoeo Times Volunteers.

A Cultural Competition was hosted by students of Homoeopathy Medical College students at the end as part of relaxation to fatigue mind after absorbing intellectual information . Solo dance, Group dance and a guest performance received a great applause.

TNHA donate tsunami funds
 

CHENNAI,JAN 2. Tamil Nadu Homoeopathic Association (TNHA) donates for the “Tsunami” Victims. More than 125,000 people are confirmed dead in the wake of the tsunami, which followed an earthquake in the ocean off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
TNHA called for a general body meeting at Hotel GRT Grand, Chennai. The body moved a resolution to raise funds for the Tsunami Victims. TNHA Committee submitted the fund of Rs 16,377/- collected from the Excellence 2005 seminar and resolved to hand over the fund to Chief Minters Relief Fund. Dr.P.V.Venkatraman President of the Head Quarters presided over the meeting . Dr.V.Veera Balaji Kumar; General secretary presented the Annual repot.


Cabinet Approves Amendment of CCH Act
 
New Delhi, Jan .4 The Congress-led government approved a proposal to amend laws that would enable it to sack the office-bearers of the medical and homoeopathy councils if they were found deficient in discharging their duties. The cabinet gave its approval for introduction in parliament two bills to amend the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 and the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 to ensure fixed tenure for elected and nominated members of such bodies.

SSHMC packs first prize in Excellence 2005 Posters!

CHENNAI, JAN 2. Exclusive competition to bring out the talents from the students a session “Poster Presentation” was scheduled in Excellence 2005 Seminar. The students were given five minutes each and evaluated by the Judges Dr.J.D.Patel , PG Director DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College, Dr.Subramanian Principal Hahnemann Homoeopathy Medical College, Dr.Uttareswar Pachegaonkar, Sri Aurbindo Society. Dr.Munir Ahmed Moderated this Session.

S.P.Abirami, Sri Sairam Homoeo pathy Medical College Chennai presented a slide projection on “A Deep Impact” Iotro Gentic Disorders and packed the first prize. The Second prize went to the topic “Homoeopathy a new Dimension” presented by Ms. Savitha, student of Bangalore government Homoeopathy Medical College. Mrs.Karthika ‘s presentation “My Dream“ representing Hahnemann Homoeopathy Medical College, bagged the third prize.


Triofest 2005

Kanyakumari, JAN 16. White Memorial Homoeopathy Medical College organized trio events at their college. A scientific Seminar, Unveiling of Statues of Dr.Hahneman and Hippocrates and also college day celebration. The program started with flag hoisting Ceremony, Dr.Rajendran Chairman and principal of the college hoisted and saluted the flag.Dr.Leela Bai Vice principal and other dignitaries also participated. The Sceintific Seminar started with welcome address by Dr. Darwin Raj. Dr.N.Subramanian, Chairman of Board of Studies, MGR Medical University chaired the sessions.

Dr.P.V.Venkatraman, President of TamilNadu Homoeopathic Association spoke on “Homoeopathic Management in Infertility with Audio Visual Aids. Dr.R.Gnanasambandam presented a paper on “Anamnesis… on Alopecia “with Clinical Evidences. There was an interactive session with Students and Practitioners. Selvi Monolissa, CRRI was the master of Ceremony to the Seminar Sessions.

Public Awareness Program in Arogya 2005

CHENNAI, JAN 7. Arogya 2005 was hosted by Department of AYUSH in Collaboration with ITPO. Public Awareness programs in Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy and free medical camps were also organized. Dr.A.U.Ramakrishnan,former Honorary physician to president of India spoke on “Cancer and Homoeopathy” Dr.R.Gnana sambandam, President ,Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical Council spoke on “The Spirit of Homoeopathy in Thyroid Disorders”. Dr.Ambika, Dr.RaviKumar, Dr.V.Lakshmi Dr.Britto, Dr.Raju and Dr.Jayam treated many patients.
Assistant Director Vikram Singh was the Guest of Honour to the occasion and Dr. Velusamy Director CRI (siddha) presided over the function.

Seminar with Dr Robin Murphy

The seminars were held at Mumbai, Mangalore and finally at New Delhi. Dr Robin Murphy author of “Lotus Materia Medica“ and “Homoeopathic Medical Repertory “ had been the center of attraction among Indian homoeopaths.

CHENNAI,JAN 2. Homoeo Times presented a Cultural Competition to bring forth a friendly inter collegiate environment. It was an opportunity for having fun at a social gathering. The eye catching colourful event started with solo dance and was followed by Group dance . The superb performance by the students attracted every body with heavy applause! In Solo Dance, Mr.Nishant, Venkateswara Homoeopathy Medical College, snatched the winner title and Ms.Vijaya Lakshmi, Sree sairam Homoeopathy Medical College received First Runner and Second Runner was Mr.Mansad, Hahnemann Homoeopathy Medical College.

The grand prize for Group permance was presented to Vinayaka Missions Homoeopathy Medical College. First Runner was presented to RVS Homoeopathy Medical College and Second Runner to Hahneman Homoeopathy Medical College. Recognition prize also distributed to Ms. Pavitra, Fr Mulller Homoeopathy Medical Collge and sairam Homoeopathy Medical College.
