Introduction:

    Aurum metallicum is known as best remedy for the treatment of depression. Thus depression is noted along with many complaints. Aurum patients can suffer from severe despondency and despair, nearly total loss of enjoyment in life, combined with a tendency towards suicide. Anguish is felt about the heart, leading, in the extreme, to a desire to commit suicide. The patient experiences violent palpitations. The heart may also feel congested while walking, or may seem to shake, as if it is loose. Sometimes it seems as though the heart stands still, and then starts up again with a loud thump. The heart may seem to beat out of time with the pulse.
