    All human societies explain birth, death, and diseases throughout the history and the illnesses has been attributed to demons or will of the God. These ideas still remain in our society so that some faith healing and shrines still used in some places, even though the scientific medicine over the past has replaced many of the old beliefs.

  Ancient Medicine

    History of Medicine started with herbalism in 13,000 and 25,000 BC. History says that Indian medicine has originated in 3300 BC and Ayurveda has the credentials of 2000BC Similarly the ancient Egyptian medicine, Babylonian medicine, Iranian medicine, Chinese medicines and Greco-Roman medicine originated from the human society.
   
Modern Medicine

    The father of Modern Medicine, Hippocrates developed a humoral medicine system where treatment was to restore the balance of humours within the body in 400BC. Hippocrates was born on the island of Cos, Greece. He is the first physician to diagnose disease, namely epilepsy and pneumonia.     The study of soul, body and mind were already discussed by the great philosophers Aristotle, (384 BC 322 BC) Pluto and Socrates (470 BC399 BC), .Paracelsus (1493-1541), the Swiss physician created an alternative model and generated a mind-body medicine. His “Law of Signature" “which is an application of Medicine on similarity", anatomical structures, colour, smell etc.. It has been claimed that the library where Dr Samuel Hahnemann was employed at Hermannstadt contained historical works, including those of Paracelsus, and that it was dipping into these that planted the seed of homeopathy in Hahnemann's mind. This is certainly possible, but no evidence to support the speculation exists.
