Seminar at Vizag

     VISAKHAPATNAM.JUNE.3: AP State, Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians organized a one day seminar at AMCOSA Hall and celebrated its 11th convention.
     AP state president Dr M.D.V. Ramana Rao presided over the inaugural function. Sri S. Vijaya Kumar , a well known industrialist invoked the traditional "Jyothi" .Dr G.L.N Sastry garlanded the portrait of Dr Hahnemann. Dr Niranjan Mohanty, the national president and Dr KRK Prabhakara Murty , National Secretary General participated as chief Guests.
     The scientific sessions on the first day included the presentation on "The scientific study of Mineral Kingdom" and" Thyroid Disorders" by Dr Praful Barwalia, "Avian Flu'by Dr Niranjan Mohanty, "Cirrhosis of Liver" by Dr GS Muralidhar Rao, 'HIV/AIDS' by Dr K Bhanu Murty and "Emergencies and Homoeopathy "by Dr PVSN Prasad'.
     The second day sessions was covered by Dr Praful Barwalia and Dr KVA Padmanabhan. Dr KRK Prabhakara Murty conducted Quiz program for the audience
.
     

     A souvenir was also released in commemoration of Dr.Padmanabhan and the program and a cultural program hosted at the end . The convention concluded with the final vote of thanks by the organizing secretary Dr Raja Suresh.  
    The election for the AP state was held in the course of event. The General Body elected Dr G Tirupathi Rao as state president, Dr M.V.L. Narasimha Rao as state General Secretary and Dr P Sangameswara Rao as Treasurer. The body also powered Dr. M.A. Ramaraju, and Dr A Kaladhara Rao and Dr. D. Samba Murty as vice presidents and Dr N Sreerama Murty, Parvathipuram, Dr. S.V. Swamy and Dr. G.S. Prasad as Joint secretaries

CME on ADHD

    

     Bangalore June 4: Karnataka Qualified Homoeopathic Doctors Association has organized a Continued Medical Education programe on Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Dr.Priya Sundeep, neurologist explained how they managed the Attention deficit hyperactive children illustrating with examples. Prof. Sripad Hedge, Govt. homoeopathic medical college, Bangalore presented a talk on ADHD and presented a "Live Case " of a boy aged five yeas, improved with Tarentula Hispanica.

Prince Charles Urges Homoeopathy and alternative Therapies
 
 

    GENEVA.MAY.25: “World Health Organization members should make better use of traditional techniques, homoeopathy, acupuncture and herbal medicines, to improve health care around the world”, Prince Charles told the World Health Assembly at the annual meeting of world Health Organisation
     "I believe that the proper mix of proven complementary, traditional and modern remedies, which emphasizes the active participation of the patient, can help to create a powerful healing force in the world," Charles said.
     "Many of today's complementary therapies are rooted in ancient traditions that intuitively understood the need to maintain balance and harmony with our minds, bodies and the natural world."
     The prince is a longtime supporter of alternative therapies and organic foods. He has said 75 percent of Britons want access to complementary medicines within the state-funded National Health Service, which offers tax-paid health care to all Britons.
     The practitioners of homoeopathy has pointed out that the British Homeopathic Association and Faculty of Homeopathy homoeopathy had been part of the NHS since 1948 and a study of 6,500 patients treated at Bristol Homeopathic Hospital showed that 70 per cent reported an improvement to their health following treatment. A range of chronic diseases were treated including eczema, asthma, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, menopause, arthritis, depression and chronic fatigue syndrome

Get Together
 

    A "Get Together Function " by Government Homoeopathic Medical College, 1976 batch Doctors held at Trichy on 28-05-2006, at Femina Hotel, Trichy .Many Doctors Joined the eve with their family. Prof. Dr. C. Palaniappan who served as a lecturer in GHMC participated as a Chief Guest. Dr.A. Balaji organized this program.

 

 
Seminar at Indore

     INDORE.MAY.21 : Homoeopathic Association of India (HMAI), Indore Unit organized a seminar at Jaal Auditorium. Mahendraji Hardiya MLA, M.P. inaugurated the seminar and while addressing he assured that homeopathic units will be opened in all the primary health centers of the state. Participating as a Chief Guest Dr.G.P. Titar, Deputy Director from Maharashtra insisted the scientificity of homeopathy and steps to initiate widespread awareness of homeopathy among the public to know its efficacy in curing chronic as well as acute diseases. He also told about the facilities provided by the Government for the upliftment of homeopathy.
     Dr.S.P.S.Bakshi, president, Central Council of Homoeopathy participated in the seminar and presented a paper on "Allergic Disorders". He illustrated the psora with cases on diseases of skin, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system and musculoskeletal system. Dr.V.P.Bansal presented his paper on shifting of Diseases focusing on heredity with examples from his clinical orientation. Dr.Anwar Ansari delivered the lecture on "The efficacy of homeopathy in Renal stones". He elaborated the pathophysiology of calculi corroborating with therapeutics.
     Finally Dr.S.P.Singh, Principal Gujrati Homeopathic Medical College, Indore, spoke on "Selection of potency".
     The seminar was attended by many practitioners and students. Dr.A.K. Dwivedi organized this seminar.

HMAI Koraput unit Election held

     JEYAPORE.JUNE.10: The HMAI Koraput unit held its election for the years 2006-2008. Dr.Ekalabya Panirahi is elected as new president. DR.R.N.Mahapatra, Dr.S.N.Panigrahi, Dr.Mishra Dr.R.S Dash are new Vice presidents.Dr.J.R.Patnaik was sworned as Secretary, Dr.D.B.Mishra, and Dr.H.C.Ghosh will be Joint Secretaries. The Treasurer of the new unit is Dr.K.S.Das. Dr.Subah Chandra Madan was appointed as adviser and Dsri M.Upendra Rao and Dr.S.S. Dash will look after the legal affairs.

 

 
TN Council urges postings

     CHENNAI.JUNE.12:The Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical Council, the statutory body of the Government urged the Government to increase placement of Medical officers in all District and Taluk level wings. It also pleaded the government to appoint a Joint Director. The officials presented a memorandum to the newly appointed Health secretary Mr Suburaj at secretariat to day.
     Dr.R.Gnanasambandam, President of the council, Dr.G.P.Hahnemann, Chairman of the Board of Examinations,the members Dr.Chidambaranathan, Dr.N.V.N.Sugathan, Dr. S.K.Ramasubramanian, Dr.Sunil kumar, Dr.Rajaram, Dr. Bharat kumar . Dr.Basker and Dr.Brindavankumar were all present.
     Mr.Saiprasad, the Registrar of the council and C.Soundarajan, Asst Registrar was also present. The council is planning to meet Health Minister Shri. KKSR Ramachandran soon

   Tamil Nadu Government has appointed former Commissioner of Labour Shri V.K. Subburaj as New health secretary to the Health and Family Welfare Department Tmt. Sheela Rani Chunkath, IAS, formerly Secretary to Government, Health & Family Welfare Department is posted to act as Special Commissioner and Director of Survey and Settlements.


 
Chikungunya Prophylaxis

     The Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine called over a meeting among eminent physicians and the team announced "Rhus Tox 200 and Pyrogen 200" are the "Genus Epidemicus " for Chikungunya cases.


 
ISM & H Dispensaries

     The Centre is planning to integrate homeopathy, Unani and Siddha with mainstream medicine into the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) as part of its 11th five-year plan (2007-2012). Syeda Hameed, member (health), Planning Commission, says: "Involvement of Unani and other ISMs in the rural health scheme is under consideration for the 11th plan.

    Jane Gilchrist, 93, who uses homeopathic remedies, says she has seen "great benefits". Ms Gilchrist had a heart attack in 1976. Since then, she has taken a homoeopathic remedy every day to help her heart muscles. She told the BBC: "I know they work. "I travel up to town on public transport, and I have a voluntary job at a homoeopathic hospital. "I don't know how many 93-year-olds are able to do that."
