A Case of Infertility with multifaceted disorders

    Introduction
       This case study is presented here from the successful case on infertility treated at AKP Homoeopathic Clinical Research Centre.

    Dr. Manju has compiled this case.

       The female partner was suffering with PCOD and Hypothyroidism and the Male partner with Oligospermia. They were longing for a child since 10 years. Despite of many medications and surgical intervention failures, homoeopathy had given a light of rays to their living.

    Case Study - Male partner
    The male partner was 44 years old. After one year of marriage he underwent a check up of his seminal count which was low and the imaging studies revealed Hydrocele. He presented the complaints during consultation.

    Loss of libido
    Pain in both knee joints since three years, more on right < exertion

    No H/o of Mumps or any prolonged illness

    Family History
    Nothing relevant







    Physical Generals
    Appetite - Normal

    Thirst - Normal

    Stool - Normal

    Urine - Normal

    Sweat - all over the body

    Sleep - Normal

    Desire -Sweets

    Food Type - Non Vegetarian

    Has the habits of tea, coffee

    Mental Generals

    Calm, impulsive, intelligent, worries about complaints, affectionate

    Investigations
    Seminal Analysis dated 31-10-1995 was 14 Millions/cum

    His seminal count raised from 14 million to 116 million/ml after homoeopathic treatment (Refer Plate III & IV)
    Further follow ups had been continued with the same drug and potency. Salix nigra Q was prescribed when he experienced pain in the testes and loss of libido



    Case Study -Female partner
    A female partner was aged 32 years. Initially after one year of marriage she underwent a routine checkup, hypothyroidism was ruled out and hormone replacement therapy was advised. After few years she underwent laparoscopic surgery for poly cystic ovaries and drilling was also done.

    Some physicians advised her to do D& C and postponed to continue the medicines for hypothyroidism. She gave off all medications and finally opted for homoeopathy treatment

    She was obese, attained menarche at the age of 14, and menstruated irregularly, 45-90 days interval, painful during, scanty and heavy flow reported randomly. She had white discharge, acrid with itching genitals < night, exertion, Coffee
    Additionally she had tendency to catch recurrent cold. Sneezing < early morning

    Past History
    She had been immunized for all communicable disease during childhood. Had tonsillitis at the age of 12.

    · Pulse: 75/min
    · CVS and RS: NAD

    Thyroid profile revealed Hypothyroidism
    Pelvic scan reported Bilateral Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease Refer Plate V
