DKMM Homoeopathy Medical College hosted PG seminar
   

 
     ERNAKULAM, Feb. 21 - DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College, Aurangabad hosted a All India Post Graduate Seminar at Hotel Mermaid, Cochi in association with Dr.Padiar Homoeopathy Medical college. The seminar was organized for two days and attracted around 250 delegates. The seminar widely covered topics on Rhematology, oncology, Allergy, Research Methodology and plant experimentations.

      Special attraction on the seminar is presentation of papers by highest officials Dr.S.P. Singh, Advisor of Homoeopathy, Dr. Eswara Das, Deputy Advisor of Homoeopathy, Dr.S.P. Bakshi, President of CCH,Dr. Ramjee Singh, Vice-President of CCH, Dr.D.P Rastogi, Chairman PG Comittee, Dr. Mahendra Singh, Chairman of Education Committee and former advisor V.T.Agustine .

      Regional officials Dr. Abdul Latif principal of Trivandrum Government Homoeopathy Medical College, Dr. P. K.Sudheer, Principal and Dr. E.S.Rajendran, Dean of salem Vinayaka Mission's Homoeopathy Medical College, also spoke on the occasion.

      Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dr. Saveesh kumar, Dr. Padmakumar, Dr. Thomas Verghese also presented papers.

      Special dignitaries Dr. Kawishwar, Chairman of Board of studies from Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Universirty, Dr. Titar, Deputy Director of Homoeopathy, Maharastra Government, Pioneer Homoeopaths Dr. R. P. Patel and Dr. Ismail Sait also added colour to the event.

      Dr. S. M. Desarda , who was dynamic and enthusiastic in arranging this mega event, joining hands with Dr. Janardhanan, Principal of Padiar homoeopathic Medical College and PG Director of DKMM Dr. J. D Patel, gave a gist of modification of Post graduate syllabus.

     The seminar was anchored by Mangala, the final year student of Padiar college.

      CHENNAI, Feb.25 - Selvi L. Jayapriya, a student of Sri Sairam Homoeopathic Medical College, second year student of BHMS, has won the first "Homoeo Times Photo Quiz" She is awarded a copy of book 'Dr. S.P.Koppikkar's Clinical Experience' and also with a Certificate.

US body to research Kolkata docs' Cancer protocol
 

      KOLKATA, Feb. 24 - A pioneering cancer care protocol, developed by a city - based father - son homoeopath duo, has been taken up for research by the National Institute of Health ( NIH ) of the US.

      The project, considered a major achievement for Indian system of homoeopathy, will be carried out in two - and - a - half years. The research will focus on collecting scientific data and analysing them to judge their veracity.

      The protocol, developed by Prasanta Banerji and his son Pratip Banerji of the P.B. Homeopathic Research Foundation, caught the attention of NIH's cancer advisory panel for complementary and alternative medicine ( CAPCAM ). On Friday, CAPCAM announced the appointment of a medical research firm to carry out the research on its behalf.

      "The research through Contractual Research Organisation (CRO) will begin soon. We were satisfied to see preliminary reports and documentation of four of their patients," claimed Jeffery D. White, director of the office of cancer complementary and alternative medicine at NIH's national cancer institute.

      "When the doctors presented a few cases of cancer cure under our 'best case' series in 1998, we found the protocol striking and unusual. Since then, we have been interested in researching it and generating more data," he said. The centre, which encourages research in bright areas of complementary and alternative medicine, will compile data on radiographic and pathological studies of 30 lung cancer patients undertaking the protocol at the clinic.

      After providing financial aid and support for radiographic examination according to the protocol, the institute would compile the data at the end of the study and, if found positive, recommend them for FDA approval, White added.


 
TNHA opened another Free Dispensary

      MADURAI, Feb.22 - Tamil Nadu Homoeopathic Association, Madurai Chapter has opened a free dispensary at Madurai. The dispensary was inaugurated Mr.Palanikumarasamy and accompanied by former Principals, GHMC, Dr. R. S. Pandian and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
 

      Dr. P. V. Venkataraman, President of TNHA Head quarters, Dr. P. Subramanian, the president of TNHA Madurai chapter and Dr.Ismail offered felicitations. Dr. V. Veera Balaji Kumar. General secretary of TNHA Head quarters welcomed the gathering.

      A team of Doctors headed by Dr. S. Chidambaranathan and Dr. J. Premkumar Dr. S. Sekar Pandian, Dr. D. Sengutuvan, Dr. V. Srilekha treated and distributed medicines. "Following Salem Mechari free dispensary TNHA has opened this second unit. In future it will be extended to all districts " Said General secretary of TNHA.

"GALAXY 2004" Celebrated
 
      SALEM, Jan. 31 - Vinayaka Mission's Homoeopathic Medical College celebrated their College Day "Galaxy 2004." Prizes for the Academic Toppers, Shields and medals winners of sports and also special prizes for Cultural Events were distributed.
 

      Mr. J. Sathish Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, V. M.R.F.Deemed University, Who inaugurated the celebrations, awarded Gold Medal to M. Kavitha for her outstanding performance in the past four years. S. Deepa, G. Vidhya and M. Kavitha also received proficiency awards. Dr. P. K. Sudhir, Principal presided over the function Dr. E. S. Rajendran, Dr. R. K. Jayaraman, Dr. Andappan, Dr. R. S. Pandian and Mr. Satheesh Joseph were also present on the occasion.

Action against Quacks Insisted
 
      CHENNAI 15 Dec. 2003 - A delegation of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council, led by President by Dr. K. R. Balasubramaniam and Executive members Dr. K. Prakhasam, Dr. A. Muruganantham, handed over District directories of the Registered medical practitioners to Hon'ble Health Minister Mr. Thalavai Sundaram.
 
      They submitted a memorandum insisting the Government to eradicate quacks in Tamil Nadu and discussions also held.

      ERNAKULAM, Feb. 21 -Dr.S.M.Desarda, Principal, DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College has been appointed as member of Post Graduate Education committee, a wing under Central Council of Homoeopathy. He had framed the new syllabus for the post Graduate Studies under the guidelines of Dr. D. P. Rastogi, Chairman of PG committee and Dr. Mahendra Singh, Chairman of Education Committee. Central Council of Homoeopathy approved the changes in subjects Medicine, Paediatrics, Pharmacy and Psychiatry. Government of India had accepted the changes and notified under official publication.

      Dr.S.M.Desarda spoke at All India Homoeopathic Seminar held at Kolkatta on " New Dimensions of Homoeopathic Post graduate Education" with great acceptance.

      "We had started a new hospital for the post Graduates at Garkheda with modern equipments, draws good number of patients." Dr. Desarda told enthusiastically.

      Dr. S. M. Desarda is serving as Dean, Faculty of Homoeopathy of Dr.Babasaheb Amebedkar Marathwada University and also as member of Board of studies, Faculty, academic Council, standing committee in many universities.
