Character of Cough

• Deep sounding hoarse barking cough.
• Paroxysms follow each other so closely that, patient looses breath and vomits large quantities of tenacious mucous.
• Copious sweat all over the body with cough.
• Haemorrhage takes place from various outlets of body during fits of coughing.
• Clergyman’s sore throat with rough scraping,dry sensation deep in fauces,voice hoarse,deep,toneless,cracked,requires exertion to speak.
• Asthma when talking with contraction of throat at every word uttered.
  
  Expectoration: - Usually dry cough with no expectoration. If present it is yellowish green.
  < in night, lying down as soon as the head touches the pillow, laughing.
