Obstinate Backache
  I use Berberis Vulgaris for backaches, which fail to respond to indicated drugs or when there are no clear-cut indications for other drugs. Main Symptoms are
1. Back pain radiating downwards
2. Pain aggravation on rising from seat
I usually use mother Tincture or 30 C.

In my clinical practice Berberis Vulgaris has helped me a lot in the treatment of Renal stones. It can be called as Rock Blaster rather Rock Eater. In many of the cases I have used this drug in 3X potency. One more thing to say, few cases with galls stones have also been cured. It is my opinion that Berberis Vulgaris is useful for both Renal and Gallstones.

  I have successfully cured many cases with this remedy, I had prescribed Berberis Vulgaris Q as a routine medicine along with the indicated medicine, It acts wonderfully in Left sided renal calculus cases – usually pain arising from Left renal region and to left lateral region then radiated to left inguinal region and finally ends in left scrotum in males and left labium major in females – “Typical calculus Pain”,In such cases I used in potencies
– 30 and above daily one dose for ten days. Ber.Vul is also useful in Low back pain, Arthritis, Hepatitis and Leucorrhoea.
Pigmentation followed by Eczema

Lumbosacral syndrome

 

I have successfully treated Lumbosacral Disc Prolapse with Sciatica (patient is having a past history of Renal Calculi) by using Berberis. The main indications are pain in the thigh and along the course of sciatic nerve on urinating and pain in the back mostly on left side of the back and left sided sciatica with shifting type of pain. All the symptoms are having
characteristic feature of rapid changeability in regard to place & character. Basing upon the above symptoms and with a past history of Renal Calculi, I have given Berberis Vulgaris 200 / 1d & Placebo for 15 days. I had been successful in many cases.
 
Renal Calculus
