Introduction

       Dr. S.SundarBabu is a young Homoeopath Graduated from Fr. Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Mangalore. Here he presents a case of how a miasmatic remedy helps, when a selected remedy fails.

        A 58-year-old female patient presented with Complaints of severe pain in left shoulder joint since 6 years and increased since six months. The pain is of pulling type, which radiates along the course of nerve, also presented with swelling and stiffness of joint. The pain is worse in the morning, by rest and relieved by gentle movement. No significant past history. Mother had suffered with osteo Arthritis of knee joint.
Patient as a person :
· Appearance – Lean
· She has good appetite but thirst and perspiration is generally decreased, and sleep disturbed due to complaints.
· She desires Fish & salty things.
· Thermally Hot patient.
· Miasm - sycotic

DIATHESIS – RHEUMATIC DIATHESIS.

Diagnosis : OSTEOARTHIRITIS OF LEFT SHOULDER JOINT.

Totality of symptoms :
· Rheumatism of left Shoulder joint.
· Pain which radiates along the course of nerve.
· Modalities: Worse by rest & better by gentle 10 days Movement.
· Hot Patient.
Based on the above totality Ferrum Met is selected as a remedy for the patient.

Conclusion
The case was diagnosed as Osteorthiritis of left Shoulder joint based on Examination and X-ray.
Ferrum. Met 30 was given to the patient. Initially patient has showed little improvement , but later it remains stable. So, based on Sycotic features Thermal state and Rheumatic diathesis Medorrhinum is selected as Anti-Sycotic Remedy.
Just one dose of Medo. 200., made to relieve patient complaints permanently.
