Arogia-2006 Inaugurated
 
     NEW DELHI.OCT.14: Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, Minister for Health and Family Welfare inaugurated the AROGYA 2006,the sixth in the series of exhibitions. Speaking on the occasion he said that he proposed to write to HRD Minister requesting for Yoga to be made compulsory at school level. Dr.Anbumani Ramadoss said the success of the Department of AYUSH in creating an innovative original database known, as “Traditional Knowledge Digital Library” is laudable. Documentation of the existing knowledge available in the public domain on various traditional systems of medicine has become imperative to safeguard the sovereignty of our traditional knowledge and to protect them from misappropriation.

     He said Medicinal Plant Processing Zones across the country would go a long way towards exporting processed goods rather than raw material for making medicines as is being done today. The Minister said that under the National Rural Health Mission Government has decided to provide an AYUSH facility in PHCs and CHCs throughout the country. This is aimed at strengthening the outreach of primary health care.

     Two more regional fairs are planned to be held at Pune in November, 2006 and another at Kolkata during January, 2007. At the ongoing fair in New Delhi about 200 stalls from various parts of the country are participating. The display profile includes Ayurvedic products, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani Products, Siddha products, Homeopathy products, medicinal plants, food supplements, machinery & technology, health fitness systems, health insurance, herbal and panchkarma therapies, books and publications and health tourism.

 
Karnataka State Homoeopathic Board hosts chain of CME

     Dharwar.Sep.24: The Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicinehad organized a one-day Continuing Medical Education Program for the registered homoeopathic doctors at Dr.B.D.Jatti Homoeopathic Medical College Auditorium. Dr.Veerabramhachary,President of the Board inaugurated the program. Sri.Amarannavar, Executive Committee member of the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha,Karnataka Chapter was the chief guest .Dr.M.R.Srivatsan ,Executive Committee member of CCH and Dr.B.T.Rudresh, President of HMAI-Karnataka state were the Guests of honour .Members Dr.V.V.Vernekar, Dr.Shastrimath, Dr.Hiremath and Dr.Abraham Zacharias were also participated.

     The program was focused on managing “Respiratory Disorders”. The speakers included Dr.Munir Ahmed, Dr.Sunil Naik, Dr.M.R.Srivatsan, Dr.N.Madan, Dr.B.T.Rudresh and Dr.A.Ramdas.

     Many practitioners attended this program and many have pleaded to conduct on various subjects. The next CME is expected at Gulbarga for the physicians in the districts covering Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur, Bellary, Koppal, Bijapur, physicians.

 

 
Free Medical camp for Chikungunya
 
      BHAVANI.OCT.6: Erode-Tamilnadu Homoeopathic Association in association with Vivekananda Yoga Trust conducted a free Medical Camp for Chickungunya. A team of Doctors Dr.A.Victordass.Dr.Senthil Kumaran, Dr.Senthil Mohan, Dr.Suresh Kumar, Dr.Srinivasan, Dr.Nithya, treated 800 cases and distributed medicines. Preventive Medicines were also distributed to the public..

 
“Chikungunya” Medical camps
 
   

     RAIPUR.OCT.8: Indian Homoeopathic Medical association Parbhani chapter and ‘Janvikas Bahuuddeshiy Sevabhavi Santha’ jointly organized Prophylactic camp for Chikungunya at Raipur village, 5 km from Parbhani city. Dr. Pawan Chandak, National secretary IHMA and Dr. Asha Chandak team treated 489 people.

     IHMA organized many camps and awareness programs on Chickungunya. A free medical camp was organized at Luxminarayan complex, Parbhani in which 562 persons were treated, another camp at Gaur village treated 422 persons and camp at Erandeshwar detected 647 Chikungunya cases.

“Chikungunya” Health Meet
    Chennai.Oct.8: Chennai, Raja Anamalaipuram Residents Association organized a Health Meet for “Chikungunya” at Community Hall.Prof. Dr.Chandrasekaran, former Anaesthetist, Madras Medical College organized this program. Dr.Manonmani, president, South Indian Medical Association and the secretary Dr.Rajasekaran, Eminent Surgeon and secretary, IMA, Dr.Guganathan, City Health Officer, Chennai Corporation and Dr.R.Gnanasambandam, President, Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical Council spoke on the awareness of Chikungunya.

     Dr.R.Gnanasambandam presented a power point show to the public and discussed preventive and treatment aspects in Homoeopathy. A panel discussion was also held after the program Mrs Kariyalli IAS, Mr Sibvagnanam IAS , Police officials and Judicial Department participated in this awareness program.

 
Post Graduate Practical Workshop
     VIJAYAWADA.SEP.2: Dhamakiran Multi Speciality Homoeo Hospital and Research Centre organized a practical workshop for the postgraduates. The admission was limited with 110 delegates and workshop dealt with 210 cases with detailed case taking, repertorisation, and multimedia recording.

     Finally cases discussed with Prof.Sohan singh and other 13 pioneers in the field. Dr.R.D.Pavalan presented a topic on “Outline of standard case taking.

    Prof. Dr.Shanta Prabhu was the chief moderator on the second day workshop.

    Dr.P.C.Varma, Dr.V.N.Rao, Dr.Rajnichander, Dr.R.D.Pavalan, Dr.Anandi, Dr.Ugender Reddy, Dr.M.N.Chary, Dr.Pushpalatha, Dr.KrishnaPrasad, Dr.Musnoori Suresh, Dr.Chandeasekhar and Dr.Manohar Prasad participated as experts.

    This programe is the first national programe organized by Prof.Dr.B.Sohan Singh, Chairman: PG.Education Committee, central Council of Homoeopathy. Dr.O.V.Ramana,and Dr.A.Prakash,co organized the event.
 

 
Homoeopathy Shops sealed
     Six tribals, including a woman, died and ten others were taken seriously ill after consuming Medicinal spirit in the Gandachara area of Tripura’s remote Dhalai District.
Four Homoeopathy shops at Agartala have been sealed and their dealers detained for interrogation for selling the Medicinal spirit to the tribal who consumed it to substitute Alcohol.- According to the Police.

Funding Boosts
  

     Patients in Northern Ireland are to get more access to alternative therapies under a new scheme announced by the health minister. Paul Goggins is setting aside £200,000 to enable patients to receive complementary services such as acupuncture and homeopathy. The scheme will commence in January and the first phase will run for a year.


 
Vinyaka Mission’s PG Courses approved
  

    M.D (hom) courses of Vinnayaka Missions Deemed University is recognized by the Ministry of Health, Government of India and the courses Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Homoeopathic pharmacy has been included in the second schedule of the act. Already the government has approved the Materia Medica, Organon and Repertory courses last year.
