Seminar on Psychiatry

 

 
   SALEM.SEP.2:Vinayaka Mission’s Homoeopathic Medical College organized a one day seminar on Psychiatry at their premises. Mr. N.V. Chandrasekar , Director of Vinayaka Missions University Inaugurated the function and Dr. M. Thirunavukarasu, Prof & HOD, Dept of Psychiatry, Stanley Medical College, Chennai was the Chief Guest, Dr. K. M. Dhawle, Principal & HOD, Dept of Psychiatry, M.L. Dhawle Memorial Homoeopathic Institute, Mumbai garlanded the Portrait of Dr. Hahnemann, Prof. Dr. V.R. Rajendran, Registrar, Vinayaka Missions University, Prof. Dr. P.K. Sudhir, Principal, Prof. Dr. Ravindranadhan, Principal, Bharatesh Homoeopathic Medical College, Belgaum and Dr. K.S. Lalithaa, Organizing Secretary also participated the inaugural session.

   
Dr. M. Thirunavukarasu presented a paper on Mind and Mental Health, Dr. K. M. Dhawle on Depression and its Homoeopathic Management, Dr. K.S. Lalithaa on Suicidal Tendencies Prevention and Management, Dr. E.S. Rajendran on Anxiety Disorder and its Homoeopathic Management and Dr. K.P. Thajuddin presented paper on Stress Management. Around 200 Doctors attended this Conference. Most of delegates participated effectively during the interactive session. During the valedictory function Prof. Dr. P.K. Sudhir, Principal promised that the College will organize more specialty conferences with a special focus on patient management in
future.

KONASEEMA.AUGUST.26: The IIHP (Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians) organized a continuing Medical education program on Gynaecological case evaluation. At Amalapuram.Dr. M. A. Rama Raj Vice President, IIHP AP State Branch inaugurated the program. Dr.Satyavathi lectured on various Gynaecological disorders with illustrative cases.Dr.P.Surya Kumari sponsored this program

Poster Presentation on Public awareness

     NEPAL. SEP.17: Nepal Homoeopathic Medical College hosted a Poster presentation Competition on “Public Awareness of Homoeopathy.” for the students. Twenty students participated the competition. Dr. Bhanu Yengden, the Chief of District Health Department, Morang, Govt. of Nepal participated as Chief guest the occasion. Mr. Sitaram Dhakal, officer of District Health Department also participated.

Dr. Yengden, Mr. Dhakal, Principal and vice principal were the judges to the competition. Rajendra Manandhar was selected to receive first prize and the second prize was awareded to Saran Maharjan, The third Prizewinners were Minraj Bhusal, Raman Gupta, and Ramhari Shrestha. Consolation prizes also distributed Biplab Katwal performed master of Ceremony and vote of thanks was proposed by Tarun Sanchet.  Dr. Bappaditya Biswas was the Convener of this program

Govt raises allocation for health care
 

    VIJAYAWADA: The government has raised its allocation for healthcare from two per cent to three per cent of GDP to fulfill its commitments under the Common Minimum Programme, Minister of State for Health Panabaka Lakshmi said on Saturday. Participating as the chief guest in a national seminar on “Homeopathy and Research Trends” at Gudivada town in Krishna district, she said the government launched National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and allotted Rs 11,000 crores in this year’s budget to provide better healthcare in rural areas. The government has allotted Rs 564 crores for traditional healthcare systems, Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (Ayush) and Rs eight crores was allocated this year to promote research in Homeopathy Medicine. The Minister advised Homeopathy doctors to take the medicine to rural areas to provide better healthcare.

   
   


 
Kolkata Homoeo study circle hosted a seminar

    KOLKATTA.AUG.11: Homoeo study circle organized a seminar on “Laws in Homoeopathy” and “Clinical Experience on Miasmatic Treatment” at Indumati Sabhagriha, Jadavpur University, Kolkata in the memory of renowned Homoeopath Dr. B.B.Ghosh. Speakers were Dr Ashis Datta, who is also Assistant Secretary (Technical) to Central Council of Homoeopathy,Dr Saumen Adhikari, National Institute of Homoeopathy and Dr. Biplab Kundu, Metropoliton Homoeopathic Medical College of Homoeopathy, Kolkata.

    At the onset President of the organization Dr. Swapan De garlanded the portrait of Dr. Hahnemann and Dr. Datta honoured Late Dr. B.B.Ghosh by garlanding his portrait.

    Dr. Bimal Krishna Mandal, Medical Inspector (Homoeopathy), Govt. of West Bengal, Dr. S.N.Chatterjee Former Professor of D.N.De Homoeopathic Medical College, Kolkata, Dr. Abhijit Chatterjee, Associate Professor of National Institute of Homoeopathy, Dr. Biplab Das and Dr. Amit Datta of Netai Charan Homoeopathic Medical College, Howrah, Prof.(Dr.) Tapan Chatterjee, Principal Birbhum Vivekananda Homoeopathic Medical College, Sainthia, Dr. Sanjay Kar of Burdwan Homoeopathic Medical College, Burdwan Dr.(Miss) Bithi Roy of Delhi also participated.

    It will not be out of the place to mention that the ‘Homoeo Study Circle’, Kolkata apart from its other activities is organizing its monthly seminar for last 16 years without a break of single occasion. Dr. Prabir Mukharjee proposed vote of thanks.

    CHENNAI. OCT.20: Dr. Malini Memorial Charitable Trust has organized a celeberation on the pioneer homoeopath of Chennai Dr.S.P.Koppikar’s 70 years service to homoeopathy. Cuba Makes Acheivements
 

    Experts noted that homeopathy has been successfully used to treat patients suffering from herpes zoster, as proved in a study of 65 patients in the city of Guantánamo. Homeopathy is cheaper than conventional therapy and does not cause side effects.Cuba’s health system has made great achievements in homeopathic medicine, as part of modern procedures to treat a wide range of diseases.

   


 
NCH operation against Quacks
 

   ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan’s National Council for Homeopathy (NCH) has decided to launch a final operation against quacks. Dr Arshad Mass said action would be initiated against doctors and quacks who were playing with the lives of people.Notice to such doctors and quacks have been issued through electronic media, he added. He said strict action would be taken against them if they continued illegal work.
 


 
Viral fever treated
 

   NELLORE.AUGUST.16: Sulllurupetta “Camel” organization organized a special camp to treat the viral fever out burst recently at “ Irakam” island, which is near Pulicat lake. Dr.K.S Sairam and Dr.Sai Pradeep treated 200 patients and preventive medicines also distributed.
 


 
Punjab Govt starts PIMS
 

   CHANDIGARH: Tikshan Sood, Medical Education and Research Minister said that Punjab government will start Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Jalandhar in this year. Talking to media persons after presiding over valedictory session of an educational seminar at

  DBIMCS, Mandi Gobindgarh, and Tikshan Sood said that PIMS, Jalandhar is an ambitious project and the state government wants to run PIMS on the pattern of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
 


 
Plea to practice modern medicine rejected
 

   The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has rejected the plea of three persons seeking to restrain the police from taking criminal action against them under the Indian Medical Council Act and Drugs and Cosmetics Act for treating people without proper qualifications.
